revenge was on my mind...

Ok this is something i came up with... it's totally impromptu and hopefully original...

Revenge was on my mind...

I wrapped the half-eaten sandwich in a plastic bag and stuffed it into the front compartment of my backpack. He was walking towards the building already and i still had yet to figure out what to do. I only saw him as a target, nothing more. I could imagine the cheesy intense 'scary' music playing in the background as I paced myself. Right now, Impromptu was my middle name and that was how I was gonna play it. The images that flooded my already occupied mind were not helping either. I saw him killing my baby sister and setting her husband on fire while he tied their only child to a chair and gagged her with a cloth soaked in kerosene.
He was planning on killing the child last but the quick-thinking 14-year-old had managed to set the ropes binding her loose, waiting anxiously for the right moment to escape. That moment came when he strolled towards her with a lighter in his hand. In a flash, she had stood up, grabbed the cloth from her mouth and threw it at him, her actions so quick he missed it when the kerosene soaking the cloth touch the tip of the flamed lighter and created what could be seen as a massive fireball.
My niece could only comfort herself and repeat that it was impossible to save her already dead parents. We found her crawling on the deserted streets of the neighbourhood after we realised what had happened. It was all too late. That inhuman, sadistic man had escaped the scene with a charred arm and broken limbs.
He was said to be heavily mentally affected when he killed my sister and brother-in-law, and his arm had to be amputated. Only getting a sentence of 15 years, the lawyers all agreed that he could be released if proven he was no longer insane.
10 years had passed. Diannah Svelters, my now 23-year-old niece, still suffers from traumatic nightmares of the day she plainly saw her parents get killed. Dia (pronounced Dee-yah)had a boyfriend of 2 years. She told me she did not really blame the man who killed her parents, after all, he was clueless and truly sorry about what he did. I, however, only had revenge on my mind...

OK.. it's short.. but it's really thrilling dun cha think?
